Nintendo announced the release date today and also shared the first screenshots and gameplay. You will even be able to use leftover half-capsules to get rid of meddlesome viruses. The falling block puzzle game is somewhat reminiscent of Tetris but involves matching colored pills to eradicate viruses rather than fitting tetrominos together.

We're still waiting on a worldwide release of Mario Kart Tour, but until that arrives, at least Australians won't be behind when Dr. Mario World launches.

Nintendo is gearing up to drop an update of 1990 classic Dr. Mario for Android and iOS next month. You also have a fixed number of capsules where as the original would drop an endless supply of pills and special items to help you clear stages. Obviously, there will be in-app purchases, but those will be entirely optional. If you've ever played Candy Crush Saga, you pretty much know what you're getting from Dr. Mario World, as it follows virtually the same formula. Hundreds of stages over many different worlds need saving, with new worlds coming on a regular basis!
