Forgotten man Yannick Carrasco could be Arsenals first Summer signing

Carrasco showcased his talent when plying his trade for Atletico Madrid before securing a mega-money switch to the Chinese Super League.

Excitement is growing over the possibility of Yannick Carrasco signing for Arsenal, last week it was Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen that got the pulses running and it will probably be yet another player next week that will get us all hot under the collar.

The 25-year-old moved to Dalian Yifang of the Chinese Super League from Atletico Madrid in February 2018, along with teammate Nicolas Gaitan, the former joining for a fee in the region of €30m.

Carrasco said: "Negotiations are going well".

The Belgian winger has revealed one club in particular is chasing him - but refused to say if it is Unai Emery's Arsenal.

Arsenal have a limited transfer budget after missing out of Champions League football.

However, quite inevitably, Carrasco looks set to return to European football after a brief stint in China and has confirmed that there is an offer that he is looking forward to, "There is now an offer on the table and the negotiations with my agent are progressing well".

AC Milan and Inter Milan were also in contention to bring the winger back to Europe, but it now seems that the Gunners have bagged their first signing of the summer.

"If he went there [Real Madrid] he could be an important player for them just as he has been for Chelsea and Belgium".

"From a personal and family point of view, I would like to return to Europe and stay closer to my family". "I have become a lot more mature and have learned a lot". Also on the field, where I had to take more responsibility.

Having joined the Rojiblancos in 2015, the Belgian racked up 124 appearances, scoring 23 goals and assisting 17 more, winning a UEFA Europa League trophy.
