Final Fantasy 7 Remake Release Date Announced

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Release Date Announced

Square Enix has reiterated that the game will appear during its E3 2019 showcase tonight (that's the 10th June - technically tomorrow for many of you at the time of writing), where more information will be revealed.

According to the leak, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download a demo for Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS4.

Usually an announcement of this size would be reserved for Sony's keynote that's typically held on the Monday of E3 - but, because Sony isn't at this year's show, Square Enix has taken it upon themselves to break the news.

We already know some of Square Enix's plans, while others are less clear.

It's hard to believe it was nearly exactly four years ago that FF7 Remake was announced at E3 2015. We still have a lot of questions about Final Fantasy 7 Remake, in any case.

You can see the gorgeous revamped characters in the new trailer for remake of the classic game above, and a bit of gameplay as well. We'll hopefully hear more about that this week as E3 continues on but this initial release date will cover the first part of the game. The original game features an expansive world full of side quests and places to explore, and we really hope that nothing gets cut. The remake is expected to retell the story of the original game following fan-favorite Cloud Strife. Otherwise, there's really no point to it. And based on a new trailer, that date looks to me 3 March 2020.
