E3 2019: Nintendo predictions, rumors and expectations

Investment banks will host management teams from a majority of companies in attendance at E3, clearing the way for analysts and investors to gain a better understanding of how the gaming sector will shape up as the second half of the year approaches. Phil Spencer has also teased there will be 14 first-party games shown off during this year's conference.

Nintendo is celebrating E3 2019 with an eShop sale, which will start at 10 a.m. PT on June 11 and run through 11:59 p.m. PT on June 18. Microsoft has been on a buying spree recently, so we might see a little bit of what the company has coming from some of its new studios, even if those games aren't likely to come out for a while.

Electronic Arts Inc will draw attention on Saturday at its EA Play event if it says Apex Legends is available in China and on mobile phones, Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Matthew Kanterman said in an interview. Having banners and official artwork already plastered on the E3 convention center, plus revealing the games release date ahead of time, makes me wonder what they will show and reveal about the game beyond the standard mechanics we expect. Speaking from a purely software perspective, Microsoft will be headlining the show with Gears of War 5 and Halo Infinite, but there is bound to be a ton of other stuff in there too.

Sunday - June 9th: After 5:30 PM PT/ 8:30 PM ET, Bethesda is running the show.

Monday kicks off with the PC Gaming Show at 10 A.M PST/1 P.M. EST.

There are a few ways that you can catch all of the announcements and news from the Nintendo Direct during E3 2019, but there's no in-person viewing for those attending.

So, even though there are some companies that are switching things up or not showing entirely, E3 2019 should still be a big show, if only because of the expectation that Microsoft will reveal the next-generation Xbox. Nintendo is beginning the event with its Direct presentation, again, and we are not sure about the lineup. Regarding Pokémon Sword and Shield, Nintendo is doing a separate dedicated presentation much earlier, on June 5th and all the details will be given then.

Of course, Mixer won't be the only option for you to catch the Xbox Briefing; there'll also be their Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter channels as well.
