Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Artwork Revealed

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Artwork Revealed

But in the end, there'll be proper screen wipes in Jedi: Fallen Order.

Fallen Order is set between the Star Wars prequels and the original films, during the period when the baddies wiped out the goodies. Earlier this morning, as part of their EA Play 2019 event, Electronic Arts finally provided fans with a first look at some actual gameplay, thanks to a reveal trailer which shows off almost 15 minutes of juicy footage. Cal is hiding from the Empire in plain sight but is forced to go on the run when he exposes his Force powers. Alongside his droid companion, BD-1, who acts as the game's HUD, the two will hop from planet to planet to hopefully restore order to the galaxy. Some notable features include the ability to force throw items, as well as a somewhat intriguing force freeze power, that appears to freeze, or at least slow time for a short amount of time. The gameplay took place about three hours into the game on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk.

The gameplay we saw showed wallrunning, lightsaber combat and force abilities being used in tandem with each other.

The new Star Wars game is being developed by Respawn, the studio behind the popular Apex Legends. We'll also have live blogs each day and will add links as and when they become available. The combat is similar to the public demo, but you really notice the ambient chatter. We don't know exactly how many abilities you'll unlock, but the upgrade path stretched outward as far as we could see.

Game Informer has released a 14-page story covering a range of impressions about Fallen Order, and it seems to line up with what the majority of fans think about the game. Move quickly, however, as the Empire is actively hunting your every step in their effort to exterminate all remnants of the Jedi Order.
