Google Unveils Stadia for a November 2019 Release

If you're like us, you've been impatiently waiting to see Stadia make its debut.

Presale for the Founders Edition is underway now.

Google has also released details on its new system's pricing structure. It's not clear if it will require the Stadia controller or if other gamepads will be supported.

You're essentially paying for better streaming quality and a few extra perks when you sign up for Stadia Pro, which runs $9.99 per month. This version of the service won't include free games, but you can still purchase titles whenever you want.

We'll update this story with more info once Google officially announces all this.

Canadian general news site Lapresse.ca seems to have accidentally published an article revealed the information about Stadia.

"Some news can't wait for E3", Google said in reference to the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo, which officially begins on Tuesday, while other companies like Microsoft will be announcing new Xbox games during a Sunday keynote.

As for where you can play, the initial list is rather short. Google Chromecast Ultra required to play on TV. This 10mbps download will get you 720p gaming with surround sound.

The whole event will be live-streamed by Google itself from and you can watch it all live on Youtube as it happens - check out the video embedded below at 5pm to watch it right here. Other devices, including additional smartphones and tablets, will be added next year. The service will be made available in as many as 14 countries, including the US, UK and France. That number, too, will expand beginning next year. For 4K streaming, you will need a 35mbps connection. For now, let's just take a look at the key points surrounding what Google is calling "the future of gaming".

Stadia Founders receive the full Destiny 2 collection, including all the content and expansions released to date, as well as the ability to transfer your existing Destiny 2 character to Stadia's services. And Apple and Amazon are whispered to be looking at the space as well.

There are thousands of titles on the market, with more coming all the time, and promoting them via a traditional storefront is ineffective.

This paid option will allow users to access some Stadia games at 4K resolution/60FPS but won't cover the latest games, which you need to purchase separately.

Justice says this could be one of Stadia's secret weapons as competition increases.

"If you happen to lose connection, Stadia will maintain the game where it got cut off for several minutes so that you can quickly get back online without losing progress".
