Antonio Conte Hired As Manager Of Inter Milan

The Italian club made the announcement Friday morning on its official website, unveiling the 49-year-old manager who would take charge of the former Italian champions.

"FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer head coach of the first team", the club said on their Twitter feed.

But during these two years with the club, the big Belgian has mostly disappointed everyone associated with the club.

According to a report by The Times, Manchester United are ready to allow Romelu Lukaku to join Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

Antonio Conte's appointment as Luciano Spalletti's replacement at Inter may not be a hugely popular one among fans given his Juventus background, but it looks a smart hire.

Inter president Steven Zhang, meanwhile, believes that Conte will have an immediate impact on the club as they look to get back to challenging for honours.

Having been out of job for a year since his sacking by Chelsea, Conte said he was glad to back to the dugout and was ready to repay the club directors with the trust they have placed in him.

Even in his second - and less successful - season in the Premier League, he still managed to win 54.2 per cent of his 59 matches in all competitions.

Conte is their 11th coach in nine years since Mourinho departed and the club has also changed hands twice since then.

Conte's methods were vividly described in the autobiography of former Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who played under him at Juventus.

"I am sure he will help us to reach our target ... to make this club one of the best in the world again".

Inter snatched the fourth place in Serie A, equal on points with Atalanta, but behind the side from Bergamo on head-to-head difference, to edge city rivals AC Milan by just one point in the race for a Champions League place for next season.
