Xiaomi Mi 9T is the Redmi K20 renamed

Chinese technology company Xiaomi has launched the much-teased Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones in its home country.

Of course, theres no guarantee that both vanilla and Pro models will be available in all regions.

The K20 Pro starts at the price of CNY2,499 while the K20 starts at the price of CNY1,999.

Redmi's latest flagships, the K20 Pro and K20, have already been leaked to oblivion before their official announcement, but today is the day the company has made a decision to formally introduce the new devices. The Redmi K series comes in two variants - a standard Redmi K20 with a Snapdragon 730 chipset and the high-end Redmi K20 Pro with a Snapdragon 855 chipset, which is octa-core and is clocked at 2.85GHz.

Other than the camera, the devices offer big, nearly bezel-less 6.39-inch displays with a tiny, neglectable chin at the bottom and an in-display fingerprint reader. In addition, the tweet is hashtagged as #PopUpInStyle, leading us to believe that the device may be shipped with a pop up selfie camera. Poco as a brand is ready to take-off and cement its position as the "flagship killer" with Poco F2 and take over from OnePlus.

On the other hand, K20 Pro is processed by Snapdragon's 855 SoC and Adreno's 640 GPU. The specs of the K20 and MI9 series are just the same: 6.39-inch AMOLED screen, Full HD resolution, integrated fingerprint scanner, triple rear shooters (main + telephoto + wide-angle), 6GB or 88GB RAM, 64/128/256GB storage, and 4000mAh battery. There's no cutout at the front, and that's because you get a retractable front camera module that features a 20MP sensor. You can do this by turning off the device using both the power and the volume buttons.

The next difference comes in the form of battery capacity and fast-charging support. In terms of Storage, Redmi k20 gets 64GB and 128GB. Now, coming to the camera department, the device packs a single 13MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture lens.

Over in India, as Weibing pointed out, Xiaomi and Redmi combined have led the smartphone market for the past seven quarters. The storage can also be expandable up to 256GB via a MicroSD card. The K20 comes at a lower price starting at CNY 1,999 (Rs 20,000 approx) for the 6/64GB variant while the 6/128GB comes at a price tag of CNY 2099 (Rs 21,000 approx). 8GB and 128GB Variant costs 2799 Yuan. It is priced at 2999 Yuan.
