Here’s what to expect from Memorial Day weekend weather

Today's high temperatures soared into the mid and upper 90s under sunny skies.

There's no sign of heat letting up as Tampa Bay heads into Memorial Day weekend. The weekend is expected to get even hotter, with an at-record temperature of 96 degrees on Saturday and 95 on Sunday.

Thu: High: 78 Low: 55 Sunny.

The bad news - we'll be dodging raindrops for our Sunday; the good news - Memorial Day looks dry and pleasant!

Overnight should be cloudier as the Sunday weather-maker approaches. The forecasted high will reach a high of 83 degrees, slightly above normal.

The cold and weather is finally out of here and it's just in time for the Memorial Day weekend!

Clouds and rain will linger for Tuesday, knocking our temperatures back into the 50s as highs. Monday will be a little cooler and a lot less humid, with patchy clouds and bright sunshine. Strong to severe thunderstorms are likely, with the primary threat being large hail and damaging winds, although an isolated tornado can not be ruled out.

Earlier in the week, strong showers caused flooding in some parts of Fresno. The rain is expected to bring up to a quarter of an inch of precipitation, with higher amounts possible from thunderstorms.

We begin this Sunday very much like we started off the weekend with morning lows on the mild side in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
