New Zealand Prime Minister reveals presents for Baby Sussex

The first child of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex was born Monday afternoon (NZ time) weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces (3.35kg).

"The baby's a little bit overdue so we've had a little bit of time to think about it", he added.

Unless the Queen grants a special Letters Patent, it is highly unlikely the baby will receive a Royal title like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's children.

During his official statement in Windsor the day of the baby's birth, Harry revealed himself and Meghan were still deciding on a name for the royal baby.

The duke and duchess announced ahead of the birth that they wanted to keep details around the birth private and opted out of an initial photocall.

Prince Harry stood outside the Windsor Castle stables where people could clearly see the names of two horses behind him.

Priyanka Chopra gave a sweet shoutout to her close friend Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry as the royal couple welcomed their first child on 6 May. "It's been the most incredible experience I can ever possibly imagine".

The royal couple are new parents as of Monday.

Because the new royal baby doesn't have a His Royal Highness or prince designation, it wouldn't be expected to bow or curtsy in front of him, Berthelsen said.

Unusually, the royal announcement of the birth posted in the forecourt of the London palace did not include the name of the doctor or location where the birth took place. Also possibly in the running as a godparent contender is Meghan's BFF, Markus Anderson, who she met while she was in Toronto filming Suits.

While Meghan's mother was mentioned in the announcement, one name left off was that of her father, Thomas Markle.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the birth is an "incredibly exciting time".
