Wendell Pierce, who played Meghan's onscreen father, tweeted, "Congratulations to the Prince & Duchess with their new baby boy!". The new-parents are yet to decide on a name for their child.

"We couldn't be more delighted at the news and we're looking forward to meeting the baby when we return", the Prince said during his visit.The trio, all in high spirits, posed for photos before walking in for their private meeting.

"The baby's a little bit overdue so we've had a little bit of time to think about it".

"Mother and baby are doing incredibly well", Harry told reporters.

"Meghan and Harry love the country and their current home at Nottingham Cottage was too small with their expanding family", a source later told ET.

The duke and duchess's Instagram account @SussexRoyal also announced the birth saying: "It's a boy!" "That's the next bit", he said, suggesting a name will be announced in two days.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, had to make a top secret, 11th hour dash to hospital for the birth of her son, abandoning hopes of a home birth.

Wendell appeared on the This Morning sofa and spoke of his disbelief when he first heard Meghan was dating Prince Harry.

Speaking to the BBC, Katie Nicholl says: "I don't know how much this has caught the palace press office by surprise as well, it's happened very quickly".

"We're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there". "It's been incredible. So we just wanted to share this with everybody".

Meghan was a U.S. actress before marrying Prince Harry past year at Windsor Castle.
