After the open ending of Avengers: Infinity War where Thanos snapped out half of the population of the planet, the fans were left heartbroken and eager for the next instalment to hit the theatres.

In terms of Endgame's global release, it set the record for biggest opening weekend in history, coming in at $859 million and surpassing Infinity War's $443 million from a year ago.

Endgame is the 22nd offering in the Marvel Studios superhero franchise. Having received positive reviews from critics, and vast word of mouth, Avengers Endgame has simply taken the box office by storm, not just internationally but also in India.

Everyone knows the opening for "Avengers: Endgame" was massive.

Disney released the movie in 4,662 theaters in the USA and Canada - more than any other opening - due to the high demand, and it grossed $75,075 per theater, according to Box Office Mojo.

In China, Endgame's four-day haul made it the fastest movie to break the 2 billion yuan mark, compared with six days for The Wandering Earth and eight days for Wolf Warrior 2.

Avengers: Endgame finally came out this past weekend to rave reviews and has been breaking multiple box office records.

However, entertainment portal Comicbook reported that "Endgame" will be the last Marvel movie the brothers direct. The question on everyone's mind is, would Endgame be able to surpass James Cameron's Avatar to be the highest grossing, undisputed champion at the global box office?

The Marvel superhero movie, the second of a two-part story, beat the $6.13 million five-day opening weekend record set a year ago (2018) by the first chapter, Avengers: Infinity War.

"Endgame" became a cinematic event with thousands of sell outs and movie theater chains running around the clock adding showtimes to meet the demand of moviegoers.

The film, released on April 26, features Hollywood biggies like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth suiting up as the world's favourite superheroes.

Avengers: Endgame is now playing everywhere.
