Pogba makes PFA Team of the Year, no Hazard or Salah

Van Dijk and Sterling are believed to be in the running for the player of the year award. Van Dijk has backstopped a Liverpool defense, which boasts the Premier League's stingiest defense and has helped the Reds contend for domestic and UEFA Champions League glory this season.

England winger Sterling has starred for the Blues in that quest, with a 17-goal return seeing him become a key man for club and country.

Members of the PFA recently voted for their Player of the Year, and Van Dijk and Sterling had always been the bookies favourites to win.

"What I want to do is win the Premier League, win the FA Cup, then think about stuff like that, even though the awards are before that".

Manchester City had five players in the 2017/18 side but only Argentine star Aguero retains his place from the team of 12 months ago.

"He's always there, especially coming back from injury, as a professional I looked at him and that's my reason for voting for him, seeing him on a day-to-day with the national team".

Meanwhile, Sterling is the favourite to win the Young Player of the Year award, with Silva, Marcus Rashford, Trent Alexander-Arnold, David Brooks and Declan Rice also on the shortlist.

So, there's no room for Eden Hazard, who's enjoying a prolific campaign at Chelsea, not to mention the likes of Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah, among others.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane completes the lineup, which is voted for by players.
