Mueller report finds 'no collusion by any American,' says William Barr

Mueller report finds 'no collusion by any American,' says William Barr

The report on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election is available to the public.

"The special counsel also investigated whether any member or affiliate of the Trump campaign encouraged or otherwise played a role in these dissemination efforts", Barr said.

Nadler's committee, which holds the authority to launch an impeachment inquiry against Trump, demanded that the attorney general release the Mueller's entire report and its underlying evidence without redactions, arguing Barr's conclusions and his brief summary of Mueller's wide-ranging investigation are both incomplete and insufficient.

The report is expected to provide unflattering details into Trump's efforts to control the Russian Federation investigation. The summary said that Mueller did not conclude that either Trump or his associates had conspired with Russian Federation to sway the 2016 presidential election, and while the evidence was insufficient to determine whether Trump had obstructed justice, the report did not exonerate him.

As for the question of whether the Trump campaign had colluded with Russian Federation during the 2016 presidential campaign, Mueller said there was insufficient evidence.

Other presidents have been under investigation.

But Democrats cried foul over Barr's preemptive press conference and said the report revealed troubling details about Trump's conduct in the White House.

We knew that Mr. Trump had ordered his White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, in June 2017 to have the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, fire Mr. Mueller, and that Mr. McGahn had refused to do so.

Trump has been proven right regarding collusion, Mueller says, but a second allegation - that he might have attempted to obstruct justice by derailing the probe - remains far from defused.

Attorney general reaffirms 'no collusion' in Mueller report on Trump, but case for obstruction is murkier

"It is clear Congress and the American people must hear from Special Counsel Robert Mueller in person to better understand his findings", Nadler wrote. "The president took no action that in fact deprived the special counsel of the documents and witnesses necessary to complete the investigation", the attorney general said at a news conference Thursday. "I'm f*****,'" the report said, citing notes from the meeting. He was - in other words, he wanted a smooth landing of the Trump - of the Mueller report. Lawmakers are prepared to go to court to obtain Mueller's full report along with underlying evidence. As more than a few people have noted, it's the kind of statement you'd expect from a Trump defense attorney rather than the attorney general.

"So that's the bottom line".

Mueller's doorstop report thumped to Earth on Thursday after much anticipation.

Top Democrats have accused the country's top lawyer, who was appointed by Mr Trump, of media-managing the report's release by holding a news conference first.

It remains unclear whether the White House would move to invoke executive privilege in an attempt to keep portions of the report from Congress and the American public.

After the news conference, the report will be delivered to Congress on CDs between 11 a.m. ET and noon and then be posted on the special counsel's website, said the official, who wasn't authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

"We're accepting apologies today, too", Conway told reporters, adding that Trump watched Barr, talked to his lawyers and was in "a great mood".

The report included an appendix that contained 12 pages of Trump's written responses to the special counsel.

The prospect of the Democratic-led House of Representatives beginning an impeachment process to remove Trump from office receded with the release of Mueller's initial findings last month.
