Apple Finally Launches Second-gen AirPods with Wireless Charging Case

The new chip delivers "performance efficiencies" including faster times for switching between devices, better synchronization, and 50% more talk time. They connect easily with all of your devices, and provide crystal clear sound and intuitive, innovative control of your music and audio.

You can also order the Wireless Charging Case on its own if you're already satisfied with your current AirPods.

The new version of AirPods comes with an Apple-designed H1 chip that promises longer battery life and enables hands-free "Hey Siri".

With the charging case, the new AirPods (2nd generation) offers more than 24 hours of "listening time". Instead, that is an optional accessory which costs extra.

The new AirPods with the new wireless charging case cost $199 while AirPods with the standard case cost $159.

The new AirPods are available to purchase today from Apple.com and will are set to hit retail stores next week. Previously, users had to touch the side of one AirPod before speaking a command to Siri, Apple's virtual assistant.

The second-gen AirPods were first teased during the iPhone XS/XR launch last year, and come more than two years after the release of the original AirPods.

The new Apple AirPods run on a new chip called the H1 compared to the W1 chip found in the original AirPods.

The new generation of AirPods brings a lot of improvements to the table. The new version keeps the 5 hours of listening time of the first generation, but extends talk time to up to 3 hours.

While AirPods haven't changed on the outside, under the hood, there's a lot to be excited about. Well, today is no exception as the Cupertino giant has finally announced its most-anticipated upgrade of the Apple AirPods, the second-generation AirPods.
