Runtimes for each of the final six episodes of Game of Thrones has been a hot topic of discussion for a while now, with chatter building to a boom when series director David Nutter revealed during a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session that he was fairly confident that each episode would be longer than 60 minutes. Running a whopping six hours and fifty minutes, the final season of Game of Thrones is overstuffed enough to fill seven episodes.

Season 8 will consist of six episodes.

No TV critic anywhere in the world will get to see Game of Thrones screeners beforehand in order to avoid leaks and spoilers in the media.

The eighth and final season of HBO's Game of Thrones premieres on April 14, and following its long-awaited first trailer, HBO has unveiled a behind-the-scenes look on just how the notable actors in the series are outfitted into their characters' signature aesthetics such as the Night King, White Walkers, the Children of the Forest and more.

Viewers will have to wait until after the physical broadcast of the first episode to read reviews from TV critics in the USA and elsewhere in the world.

So, what gives? Why are the first two episodes of what's expected to be the biggest, boldest, most jaw-dropping, WTF-inducing season of Game of Thrones a little shorter than expected? There are countless great moments, plenty of horrifying ones, moments of foreshadows, and lots to pick up on when going back through these 10 episodes. The report stated that while Episode 1 and 2 would be around 60 minutes each, the next four will be approximately 80.
