Cavaliers sign Patrick McCaw to offer sheet

The club now has the final roster spot open, but with questions at the center spot, and DeMarcus Cousins still working his way through his rehab, the Warriors have decisions to make when it comes to the back end of the roster.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed former Golden State Warriors guard Patrick McCaw to a multi-year offer sheet, according to General Manager Koby Altman.

The standoff situation between McCaw and the Warriors has been the weirdest one to date in recent memory.

Assuming the Warriors do not match the offer, as expected, McCaw will become part of a shooting guard/small forward rotation that includes Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, Cedi Osman, David Nwaba and Alec Burks for the Cavs.

It will also increase the Warriors paying the tax bill. They have 48 hours to match the offer.

McCaw, 23, averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 57 games last season, his second in the National Basketball Association.

The Cavs signed McCaw to a contract Friday, a deal that's believed to be worth two years and $6 million. He shot 40.9 percent from the field and just 23.8 percent from 3-point range.
