EPL: Klopp speaks on Liverpool pressure causing Man City's defeats

Jürgen Klopp has said Liverpool should "enjoy the ride" of pursuing a first Premier League title since 1990 and not fear the pressure of leading the race at Christmas.

But Klopp has positioned his team perfectly to intensify their challenge after the festive period.

"Winning cups or the Champions League, that's six or seven games where you have to be good, but in the Premier League it can be every three days, which is why it's the title I like the most". We need to adapt to the different things they offer.

Chasing their first league title since 1990, Liverpool host Newcastle on Boxing Day, trying to play down the pressure of being the hunted leader.

"I am sure the gaffer will have a tactic that will trouble them and whatever he says we will do to our best".

"After we lost 4-1 at Tottenham in October of last season, we started defending better and conceding less but then Virgil came in on top".

"If something will dramatically change then we need to have a look, that's all".

"It was a special performance", he told Crystal Palace TV.

"We expect to get something, that's how we've always been, no matter who we play".

"I don't know too much about Newcastle; from time to time I read a little bit and I heard nobody was really happy with the amount of money they had to sign players". It's hard to win football games, sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't.

Midfielder Naby Keita was removed from Liverpool's win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday. We have to be focused.

"We lost many things in our behaviour and our organisation and at this level you can not".

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronlado are wonderful footballers, but Van Dijk is at the peak of his powers and rarely has a bad game, with his importance to the Liverpool side something of a concern to me looking ahead to the second half of the season. It's a different team, a different time, everything was different. It's a nice and pretty good situation, but a lot of other teams have good situations as well, that's it.

I don't know. I think so, but I don't know. We collected so many points, it's a new record I think, so let's go on that path further on and then we will see where this path ends. "There are a few of them out there and they can win things without the ideal attitude, but usually no chance without that".
