Another suspicious package addressed to CNN arrives at Atlanta post office

Law enforcement officials have said they believe the packages were staggered and more could be discovered.

"All mail, at all CNN domestic bureaus, is being screened at off-site facilities as of last Wednesday, so this package would NOT have come directly to the CNN Center, even if it hadn't been intercepted first", Zucker said in the memo, according to CNN.

A US official says the man accused of sending pipe bombs to prominent Democrats had a list of elected officials and others who investigators believe were intended targets.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Friday that Sayoc was charged with five federal crimes: interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives, threats against former presidents and certain other persons, threatening interstate communications and assaulting current and former federal officers.

The FBI recovered the list during its investigation of 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc and has been notifying those on it so they can take precautions in checking their mail, the official said. Authorities determined it did not contain any explosive devices or harmful materials.

Two earlier bombs were also sent to CNN in the past week.

In a statement, CNN president Jeff Zucker said that "there is no imminent danger to the CNN Center".

Cesar Sayoc was arrested in south Florida late last week after federal authorities narrowed down the nationwide manhunt using forensic evidence and cell-phone data; ending a week-long manhunt after a dozen "packages" were sent to leading Democrats across the country.

More bombs were sent to a range of prominent Democrats, including former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and other frequent targets of Trump's scorn.

At least some listed a return address of U.S. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former chair of the Democratic National Committee.

"We don't know what they have yet".

Sayoc, shackled at the wrists and ankles and wearing a tan jail jumpsuit, said little at the hearing but at one point tearing up.

On Friday, FBI Director Christopher Wray said there is strong evidence linking Mr. Sayoc to the bombings that terrorized the nation.

Balsamo reported from Washington.

There was no immediate word from authorities on Monday about whether the suspicious package in Atlanta is linked to last week's wave of mail bombs.

"This morning, another suspicious package addressed to CNN was intercepted at an Atlanta post office". Aaronson said he did not know what made Sayoc seem emotional but noted he is facing decades in prison if convicted.
