Melania Trump Visits Kenya

Melania met with Malawian First Lady Gertrude Maseko at the state house for tea before watching three traditional dance performances.

Melania Trump's solo trip to Africa has captivated worldwide aid and global health advocates, who have otherwise watched in frustration as the Trump administration moved to defund and deprioritize longstanding American programs aimed at strengthening Africa and solidifying US interests across the developing world.

"I think she's kind and nice".

"She's shining a light on some of the great things the U.S.is doing in Malawi and Africa". It comes after January reports that her husband complained about immigrants coming to the USA from "s-hole" countries, a phrase President Trump denied making.

Before coming to Kenya, Mrs Trump started her African tour in Ghana early in this week before proceeding to Malawi.

The criticism was not universal.

Although the photos might suggest Melania was in danger at the elephant orphanage, she was reportedly smiling more than ever. "It is a handsome thing to see", the president said.

"Trump's motorcade traveled along a roadside where a handful of white protesters greeted the first lady with handmade signs, including a couple that said "Me Too" and "#notashithole!" "It's exhausted and it's old and it's inaccurate".

Nairobi motorists should brace themselves for a day of heavy traffic as US First Lady Melania Trump tours the city.

"I also wanted to be sure to personally thank each of you for the work that you do here at the embassy in Malawi", she added.

In each country on her visit, Melania Trump has seemed at ease, and perhaps happy to be out of Washington.

Mrs Trump is promoting her "Be Best" campaign, which seeks to improve the lives of children.

President Donald Trump shared the moment of his wife in Ghana.

Melania who wore a brown trouser, white blouse and maroon boots was seen holding the ear of the elephant and she looked at it keenly. She emerged without a smudge.

Mrs Trump's solo trip is not out of the ordinary.

"It's like showing up to a meeting of African-American cotton farmers in a Confederate uniform", Matthew Carotenuto, a coordinator of African Studies at St. Lawrence University, wrote on Twitter.

The US first lady heads to Kenya later on Thursday and then stops in Egypt on Saturday before returning to the United States. Throughout her trip, observers have been trying to read the reasons behind her journey, searching for clues that might place her in studied opposition to her husband's harshly leveled stereotypes about African nations. She did not appear to be injured.

She also saw a site where 105 tons of ivory was burned as part of an effort to discourage the trade. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, an agency of the Department of the Interior, claimed that lifting an existing ban on elephants imported from Zimbabwe and Zambia and encouraging wealthy big-game hunters to kill the threatened species would help raise money for conservation programs.

The first lady spent time with a herd of elephants in the park and fed formula to two that are being raised at the park.
