Astronauts return to Earth from ISS amid US-Russia tensions

NASA has issued an update that appears to downplay the leak in the station's atmosphere that was discovered in late August.

Both Feustel and Arnold participated in dozens of educational downlink events while in space as part of NASA's Year of Education on Station, reaching more than 200,000 students in 29 states.

However, at least one Russian newspaper quoted anonymous Russian officials as suggesting an American astronaut was to blame.

Washington, Oct 5 Two astronauts from NASA and one from the Russian Space agency Roscosmos have returned safely to Earth after 197 days of scientific research on the International Space Station.

'Where it was made will be established by a second commission, which is at work now'.

Rogozin, according to news reports last month, initially refused to rule out the possibility that an astronaut, not a worker on the ground, might have drilled the hole.

Rather than giving greater credence to foul play, the elimination of a manufacturing defect as causing the hole "indicates that this is an isolated issue which does not categorically affect future production", NASA said. NASA hopes to launch crews from Florida again within a yearon new Boeing and SpaceX capsules.

Russia's space agency chief said that it wouldn't accept a second-tier role in a NASA -led plan to build an outpost near the moon, but Roscosmos spokesman quickly clarified that Russian Federation is still staying in the project.

Rogozin said people he knows at the US space agency had told him they are under pressure from what he called "rabid Russophobes". -Russian cooperation ended, it would be problematic for NASA. As per the information the current crews are three US, two Russian and one German astronaut.
