Cardi B Charged With Assault Following Strip Club Altercation

It was reported the melee may have been the result of a romantic dispute over Cardi B's husband, Offset. Two female bartenders were injured. The meeting resulted in her being charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment and assault.

Cardi B has become one of the biggest new stars in United States music since the runaway success previous year of her song "Bodak Yellow", which touches on her former life making ends meet as a stripper.

Cardi, real name Belcalis Almanzar, was seen at the Flushing precinct before 10 this morning and she didn't say anything to reporters. She was fingerprinted and ordered to take a mugshot, TMZ reports.

The platinum rapper was charged after agreeing to meet with investigators at a Queens police station.

TMZ first reported on details around the brawl, which reportedly involved members of her entourage and centered on a long-running feud. The rapper is scheduled to be arraigned on October 29.

It's not yet known what role Cardi B played in the alleged incident which happened on August the 29th. She also claims Cardi made numerous threats on social media. Cardi B was "throwing chairs, bottles and hookahs [smoking pipes] in the club at 3 a.m.", according to a police spokesman. The women reportedly refused medical attention after the altercation.

A source close to Cardi says the attack was "spontaneous" and was triggered after someone threw a drink. Cardi B performed at the 2018 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on Saturday.
