#BelieveSurvivors protests erupt in Washington against Brett Kavanaugh; dozens arrested

Members of a group called Yale Law Students Demanding Better included Veronica Guerrero, who told law.com that more than 100 traveled from the CT school to join the protest.

The Washington Post also reported that a fourth signatory of the Yale Law School's letter of support, Robert Rivera Jr., has also suggested that an investigation would be helpful.

Several of Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Yale colleagues who signed a letter publicly endorsing his nomination to the Supreme Court in August, are now voicing their support for an investigation into sexual assault accusations made against him.

Democratic senators will most likely vote against the nomination and Republicans will vote for Kavanaugh's confirmation, but many observers believe some defections by Democratic Party senators representing more right-of-center states will tip the vote in Kavanaugh's favor. The aim of her email, she wrote, was to "address the press reports today regarding allegations of faculty misconduct", and she said that "the allegations being reported are of enormous concern to me and to the School".

The second woman to accuse Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, Deborah Ramirez, will not testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. "On the one hand, it's a yellow flag; on the other hand, phew, I hadn't heard anything else", she told the Huffington Post, referring to Kavanaugh's alleged practice of only choosing female clerks with a certain look.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, called for the "immediate postponement" of any further action on Mr Kavanaugh's nomination.

According to Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), a member of the Committee, said he spoke with Ramirez. Another displays the same four hashtags with the text, "We Demand Better" displayed above the Yale Law School logo. Kavanaugh has denied that either incident occurred.

"There is now a frenzy to come up with something - anything - that will block this process and a vote on my confirmation from occurring".

"I think an F.B.I. investigation would be warranted", he told The New Yorker magazine. "So I'd say don't shy away from the responsibility we have as Yale students to each other now and also to our country down the line". We are told if we want to know the allegations, read the New Yorker. "The last-minute character assassination will not succeed", Kavanaugh wrote. In an interview for the Showtime political show, "The Circus", that was taped Friday night - before the latest allegation became public - Collins said that she's "very close" to making a decision on Kavanaugh. "We know it's not easy and I wouldn't fault you for not coming forward because I know that it's hard, but the fact that you did encourages so many other people", she said.
