STORM ALERT | Severe weather risk now lower for St. Louis Tuesday

This cooler air will stick around for the extended period with highs Thursday in the low/mid 60s, and 50s for Friday and Saturday.

Ahead of that front, temperatures climb back into the low-80s.

Skies will begin to clear Tuesday night, and lows will drop into the 40s. Temperatures will warm into the work week before this frontal system moves in bringing scattered showers and storms.

Forecasters said the steady rain "should wind down" later Tuesday, but the precipitation won't end there. With the increase in heat and humidity, there is a chance that a few of the storms tomorrow could be on the strong to possibly severe side.

The weekend is expected to be sunny, too, with highs in the upper 60s.
