Russian Federation to "cool hotheads" by putting S-300s in Syria - English

Russian Federation to

Russian Federation said on Monday that it would supply a surface-to-air missile system to Syria. When the incident occurred, sparked by an Israeli air raid on arms shipments bound for its enemies and an attempt by Syrian military to shoot down an Israeli jet fighter, Putin opined that the incident was the result of a "tragic chain of events".

A large fleet of Russian warships and planes now in the eastern Mediterranean could be used to constrict the airspace Israeli planes operate in.

The Russian spy plane was downed while Israeli fighter jets were conducting an airstrike last Monday night on a weapons facility in the coastal city of Latakia, which the IDF said was going to provide weapons to the Hezbollah terror group and other Iranian proxies.

Assassination campaigns targeted anti-regime officials in northern Syria, killing a military senior official opposed to the Russian-Turkish agreement on Idlib signed on January.

Russia announced Monday it will supply Syria's government with sophisticated S-300 air defense systems after last week's downing of a Russian plane by Syria forces responding to an Israeli air strike, a friendly fire incident that stoked regional tensions.

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office said in a statement that the security cabinet reiterated Israel's stance on the accident, blaming Syrian military's "irresponsible action" for causing the incident.

"It is quite clear that the missile was targeting the Israeli jet", he noted. Now, he said, "the situation has changed, and that isn't our fault".

"We will continue to act to prevent Iranian military entrenchment in Syria and we will continue the military coordination between the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) and the Russian army", Netanyahu told reporters before boarding a flight to NY, where he will address the U.N. General Assembly.

The data also proves wrong the claims earlier made by the Israeli military.

"The S-300 systems Russian Federation plans to supply to Syria will feature a compromise solution", said Sokov.

Russian Federation launched its campaign in support of President Bashar Assad in 2015, eventually turning the tide of war in favor of Syrian government forces.

Moscow accused Israel of using the Russian aircraft as a shield against the Syrian defense.

Since the downing of the IL-20 spy plane, Israel's relationship with Moscow has appeared to be rapidly deteriorating.

Syrian state TV said insurgents shelled a government-controlled crossing east of Idlib on Monday that was reportedly prepared to allow civilians to leave the province.

Two insurgent groups have rejected the deal for a demilitarized zone around Idlib that should be set up by mid-October, calling it a conspiracy that aims to disarm the opposition.
