Apple Keynote 2018: Apple Watch Series 4 Revealed With Release Date, Price

T-Mobile starts pre-orders for the Series 4 starting on September 14 at 12:01 a.m. PT. Pricing is forthcoming and we will update this when it's available.

The Apple Watch Series 4 has been priced at $399 (roughly Rs. 28,700) for the GPS-only, non-Cellular variant, and $499 (around Rs. 35,900) for the variant with both Global Positioning System and Cellular capabilities. The stainless series will come in space black, polished, and gold.

There are a few new watch faces designs, but they all seem too noisy for my tastes. These include a Pure Platinum/Black Sport Band and a Summit White Sport Loop Band. Apple even brought the American Heart Association's president and practicing cardiologist Ivor Benjamin on stage to tout the feature and its ability to evaluate your heart and find risks to possible heart issues. Pricing starts at $399 for the Wi-Fi-only version, and $499 for the cellular edition. A configuration with 512GB of internal storage is also going to be available for the larger iPhone Xs, along with 64-GB and 256-GB models.

The new Apple Watch will be launched with an edge-to-edge screen and ECG support, the company has announced at an event in San Francisco.

A back now made from ceramic and crystal, meaning radio waves can pass through the front and back for better cellular reception. The latest smartwatch from Apple comes with a new design and larger display - one with thinner bezels compared to last year's model.

The Apple Watch 4 has an improved monitor for checking how your ticker is beating, using an ECG (electrocardiogram) monitor to give better readings in a medical scenario.

The watch comes with Apple's new S4 chipset that sports a dual-core 64bit processor and new GPU to be two times faster than the old S3 chip.

Not everyone is happy about Apple's new watch. It has been optimised for phone calls, Siri and Walkie-Talkie.

How the Series 4 (right) stacks up to the Series 3 (left) The Series 4 feels larger, but it's also slimmer than the Series 3, which feels bulbous by comparison. The user can add contacts on the Watch Face to just touch to start a call. There a next generation accelerometer gyroscope, which can now detect a fall (if you slip off a platform or trip on a curb, for example). Thanks to the electrical heart rate sensor on Watch Series 4, the user can take an electrocardiogram (ECG) using the new ECG app.

An app unlocking the wrist-based ECG functionality will be available to US consumers later this year. Apple has designed some new watchOS faces that can display as many as eight "complications" at once, including combinations of different time zones, pictures of close friends or family that users can tap to quickly message, watchOS' activity rings, music, heart rate, air quality, UV index, weather, and much more. It classifies if the heart is beating in a normal pattern or whether there are signs of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib).
