Rumor mill: 5 things to expect from Apple's new iPhone(s)

However, it turns out that might not be the case after all.

A rumor is circulating on the web that Apple would name the large display version of its new iPhone as the iPhone XS Max. According to the rumours and leaks doing the rounds, Apple will likely unveil three new iPhones on Wednesday, September 12th.

The news of the manufacturing defect on the iPhone devices comes at a bad time since Apple is preparing to launch a new device called the iPhone XS.

Apple is apparently even considering dropping the "Plus" moniker from its biggest iPhone since this might create confusion between the 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch models. The iPhone XS Max will sport the largest display on any iPhone. Unfortunately, other than the name, this report doesn't include any additional information just yet.

You may be wondering why iPhone 9 is the option, but it is simply, their capabilities matter. The two most-awaited smartphones have been the subject of constant leaks and rumours all year round giving us a fair idea of what to expect.

iPhone XS Max is also said to have a bigger battery than the 5.8-inch iPhone XS. Now, the "Max" seems to serve as the new suffix, replacing the "Plus" that came with iPhone 6, iPhone 7, and iPhone 8, but not the iPhone X. Multiple sources have confirmed this with us, and they have also claimed that Apple isn't considering using "Pro" for the premium model either. The particular device recently leaked in some images, showing an iPhone 5C-like approach by Apple. The XS will feature Apple's A12 processor and is expected pair with 4GB of RAM. There will not be an iPhone X Plus, nor will there be an iPhone XS Plus. Contrary to reports, it will not be the 6.1-inch LCD model that will be released with the two other iPhones.

The iPhone X ($999) reached almost 30 million sales since its release last September, says Canalys. What we know is that the company will unveil the Apple iPhone Xs Max, Apple iPhone Xs, another LCD model of the iPhone to cost lesser than these two, and the Apple Watch Series 4.

The images also reveal that the next-in-line iPhone will continue to feature the bezel-less display and have a larger sibling featuring a 6.5-inch display while the base version will be at 5.8-inch.
