Olivia Newton-John: Grease legend, 69, diagnosed with cancer for third time

Olivia Newton-John has confirmed she's facing her third battle with cancer.

Newton-John says she was told a year ago she had cancer at the base of her spine, and she's been treating it since by completely cutting sugar out of her diet, as well as with natural remedies and "modern" meds, including cannabis oil as a pain reliever, per the Independent.

"I believe I will win over it and that's my goal".

Newton-John's third cancer diagnosis comes after she was first treated for the disease in 1992, after finding a lump on her right breast.

Newton-John was diagnosed for a second time in 2013, a new breast cancer which had spread to her shoulder, forcing her to postpone a tour of the USA and Canada.

She told Sunday Night host Alex Cullen: "They sent John Travolta to my home to talk me into it".

"I'm one of millions in this fight ..."

"I've been great", she said at the time. "There are moments. I'm human, so if I allow myself to go there, I could easily create that big fear". I have nothing, really, to complain about, ' she told Australia's Sunday Night.

In May 2017, Newton-John cancelled tour dates after her breast cancer returned and spread to her sacrum.

Newton-John said she chose to keep her second bout of cancer to herself.

Olivia's husband, John Easterling, is the founder of the Amazon Herb Company, and grows cannabis for her at their ranch California. "I live in this attractive place", Olivia is a fighter and remains incredibly positive about her fate. "I see it as part of my mission maybe".

Newton-John first announced her diagnosis previous year after she was forced to cancel a summer tour in order to undergo treatment. "Always when I sing it, I get a good, happy feeling and I get that positivity and keep on believing". There are people out there doing much worse than me. Tinctures. It's hard to say. they help with pain. I have a wonderful husband.
