Earl Thomas Reports To Seahawks, Will Play Out Final Year Of Contract

Earl Thomas Reports To Seahawks, Will Play Out Final Year Of Contract

This news follows the report from Adam Schefter just moments before indicating the Cowboys had continued their push for the free safety, upping their trade offer to a second-round pick. His career highlights include six Pro Bowl selections, three AP first-team All-Pro honors and a win over the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.Though Seattle's defense is not as intimidating as it once was, having Thomas available to play makes them more formidable.

Thomas has since reported to the Seahawks.

"I worked my whole life for this...., " wrote Thomas.

Hold out free safety Earl Thomas will report to Seahawks' practice today, he indicated on an Instagram post Wednesday morning that followed a report from ESPN's Josina Anderson that he would show up.

Thomas doesn't likely want to sit out all season, and he nearly undoubtedly wouldn't, but the Seahawks have until the NFL's trade deadline to continue fining him and collecting the money from all of the games and practices he's skipping.

"The Cowboys remain a trade option for Earl Thomas", Pelissero tweeted Friday. With that being said, the disrespect has been well noted and will not be forgotten.

Wednesday's news of Thomas reporting to his current team might well lead to both sides considering it a stalemate. That likelihood, apparently, is enough to keep the Cowboys brass from ponying up whatever pot-sweeteners Seattle now wants. Obviously, the All-Pro safety wasn't happy, but he'll be back on the field for Seattle in Week 1. Thompson missed the final preseason game with a shoulder stringer and rib injury suffered a week earlier, but coach Pete Carroll had said Monday that Thompson was in line to start the opener.
