Wouldn’t You Love To See Idris Elba As James Bond

Rumors that Idris Elba will be the next James Bond have been flying for, well, about a decade.

Apart from Daniel Craig, no one is finalised yet but fans of Quantico star Priyanka Chopra wants her to star in the upcoming James Bond film.

Then, on Sunday (UK time), the star offered an enigmatic Twitter post that fuelled the buzz about him becoming the first black Bond.

The Luther star shared a heavily filtered selfie, writing: "my name's Elba, Idris Elba".

Meanwhile, Idris's tweet comes as director Antoine Fuqua reportedly claimed "it is time" for a non-white actor to take on the leading role, adding: "It will happen eventually".

Hours later, the star got even more vaguer firs sharing an image of the rap group Public Enemy followed quickly by one of their lyrics, "Don't Believe The HYPE".

"His tweet, "my name's Elba, Idris Elba." resonates with the famous line from every James Bond movie, 'My name is Bond, James Bond".

Elba, 45, made his name in gritty United States television drugs drama The Wire and won a Golden Globe for his role as a murder detective in Luther, before moving to the big screen.

Craig is slated to return as Agent 007 in the now unnamed 25th James Bond film. There were reports of replacing the actor with someone else but it was recently reported from a legitimate source that the film's producer Barbara Broccoli is meeting with actresses and actors for the most-awaited Bond film.

"You need a guy with physically strong presence".

Are you excited for the new Bond film? When I spoke to Elba earlier this year he told me he had never been approached for the part.
