Republican US Senator delivers letter from Trump to Putin

Vladimir Putin presented President Donald Trump with a series of requests during their private meeting in Helsinki last month, including new talks on controlling nuclear arms and prohibiting weapons in space, according to a Russian document obtained by POLITICO.

A US senator says he has delivered a letter from President Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin calling for more talks and exchanges between the two countries.

One White House official emphasized that the document is a draft and that it could change but said it showed Trump is intent on safeguarding USA elections.
