Jose Mourinho expecting one more new arrival this summer

Jose Mourinho expecting one more new arrival this summer

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho doesn't expect his starting line-up to change much from last season.

And, speaking after the 4-1 loss to Liverpool in MI at the weekend, which had an attendance of over 100,000, the Portuguese said: "I wouldn't spend my money to see these teams".

Tottenham manager Pochettino is now the favourite to replace Mourinho if the Portuguese boss leaves. For example, we played against Liverpool and they had maybe 80 percent of their squad ready, Milan maybe 90 percent of their squad.

"It's understood the piece of content in question wasn't even contentious and could be considered "on message" from a club point of view - but it is a measure of the tension being felt on a troubled tour", remarked the Manchester Evening News.

In the aftermath of that, there were reports that his relationship with vice-chairman Ed Woodward were "at an all-time low" but these rumours have been denied by a reliable source when it comes to Man United news, sports journalist Simon Stone.

"More or less, I know".

"His condition was not good when he was back", he said after the player returned to the squad from holiday.

"So, of course, our team is not going to be very different".

"There are challenges in a World Cup year".

But Mourinho, who has bemoaned the lack of established players he has on United's USA tour, says that is too soon after the World Cup and the start should be a week later.

It happened twice at Chelsea where he was sacked in the middle of his third campaign in his second spell there, and it also happened at Real Madrid.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has urged Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to stop moaning and concentrate on winning football matches.

"I told you guys the other day in the media that I don't think we have worse players than any other team in the league, that's first of all". The likes of Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire, Yerry Mina, Ivan Perisic and many more have been rumoured to be on the Red Devils' radar but they are yet to sign anyone of them.

The majority of United fans are hoping Mourinho can turn the situation around and inspire the club to glory this season, but his eyebrow-raising comments after Saturday's 4-1 defeat to fierce rivals Liverpool in MI led to criticism.
