Mourinho And Martial Relationship At 'Breaking Point' After Player Leaves Tour

Leicester City are reportedly contemplating a move for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson as Manchester United up their interest in Harry Maguire.

Anthony Martial of Manchester United celebrates after scoring a goal to make it 0-1 during the Premier League match between Burnley and Manchester United at Turf Moor on January 20, 2018 in Burnley, England.

Martial's agent has admitted that a move elsewhere will be considered during the current transfer window, but Rooney is hoping to see a player of considerable promise stay put. Playing for England, Maguire produced an outstanding display in the recently concluded World Cup.

Martial's departure seems to have taken the club by surprise as he was listed on United's website on Wednesday as available for their evening match with Milan.

"Is it Mourinho and Man Utd not appreciating him?"

Pogba was dropped several times last season with the player admitting he had issues with Mourinho in the second half of the campaign.

While Martial has struggled to perform consistently, United's all-time leading scorer Rooney believes the Red Devils can not afford to lose his quality.

Martial wants to leave United and Mourinho has reluctantly accepted he can be sold - preferably to an overseas club.

"He's actually started for United against Club America and San Jose Earthquakes".

"If Guardiola was manager of Manchester United he would hate what he was seeing - and it would be different".

"Hi everybody. Guess who is back watching United train?" You don't have any divine right to win a trophy I know that.

If the 22-year-old has left before seeking permission it will further damage a relationship with Mourinho that, sources have told ESPN FC, is already strained. "I think if you look at his game he can be brilliant one week, not so good the next week", Scholes told beIN Sports.

"Leicester have been unbelievable to me and I'm really happy there but I'm also an ambitious player and everyone wants to play at the top".
