Can full of praise for Klopp after Liverpool exit

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has assured Loris Karius that he still has a role to play at the club.

This time however, he's gone one step further, by providing a compilation of his own mistakes throughout his career, which makes for some excellent viewing, and a timely reminder that even the best of us are fallible. "They will not be weaker than previous year", said Klopp.

Liverpool has been very busy with the transfer business from the very start and perhaps has become successful to acquire signatures of some of the biggest names around.

The German goalkeeper, whose form has disintegrated during pre-season, has been rattled by the world record signing of Alisson Becker and is aware he will be given hardly any opportunities to play next season.

Can spent four years at Anfield, making over a century of Premier League appearances for the English club while also breaking into the Germany team.

"It's not the price we wanted to pay, it's the price the market demanded, we aren't thinking about him being the most expensive goalkeeper, that's a story outside the club".

"Whatever people say about that - and bring it up again and again and again, what I said - I've had worse days in my life and I've said worse things, so all good, I'm fine with that".

Klopp warned against complacency, adding: "We need to be ready for the big challenges, the big goals".

Last week Liverpool wrapped up a £65m deal with Roma for the 25-year-old, which made him the priciest goalkeeper in football history. As a kid we used to play wearing a Liverpool shirt in the streets.

Speaking this week, Keita said: "He (his father) has spoken to me loads since I signed for Liverpool about how much he loved them".

Jones' quality in the last few weeks has been impossible to ignore, however, and he has the talent and attitude to hit great heights in the future.

Liverpool's pre-season tour of north-west England and now America may not have shown the full extent of their squad's ability, but it has potentially provided a revival for one man.

"The new players will make us stronger 100%. How?"

Klopp believes consistency is the answer to closing the gap, saying: "It is not just that we have to be more consistent, we have to create circumstances where we can be more consistent".
