‘Fortnite’ season 5 trailer brings golf carts and temporal rifts

‘Fortnite’ season 5 trailer brings golf carts and temporal rifts

Of course, with the start of season 5 comes a new Battle Pass, which will offer up a bunch of new skins and cosmetics that fit within the "Worlds Collide" theme. It's also added two new named locations: Paradise Palms and Lazy Links, on top of a few anonymous areas that will surprise when you jump out of the Battle Bus.

After posting about his awesome player-made superhero film earlier today, Sonny Evans sent us the replay system cinematic above that shows off Fortnite's newest locales.

You're also invited to step through a rift, with Epic promising "you're in for a wild ride". This golf cart has room for up to four players (or a full squad), can get a speed boost after drifting, and has a roof that doubles as a bounce pad. Passengers can also lean forward and back to manipulate the vehicle into maneuvering around objects and heighten jumps. Where storm circles would normally just shrink, Epic has decided that the seventh, eighth and ninth circles should move in random directions, giving campers a whole new headache to deal with. There are also some damage and bullet drop-off changes to the SMG.

As part of the 5.0 patch notes, Epic Games noted that Fortnite for Switch will now support motion or gyro controls for anyone wanting to use them. There are also a ton of updates for the single-player Save the World mode worth reviewing, but we'll detail the most substantial Battle Royale revisions below.

As expected, the biggest changes are within the map. "Fortnite" players will now earn XP when they revive their teammates in 50vs50 and Teams of 20 matches, according to Engadget. In a word, Fortnite season 5 appears to be massive. The game continues with the last-player standing format, but adds its own twist that changes everything: you can instantly build walls and stairs, allowing you create fortifications to protect yourself.
