Dancer doesn't realise she's lost both legs after boat blast

Maleka Grimes, 39, from Tennessee, died in the explosion.

Her family has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for medical expenses.

Stephanie's sister, Brooke, suffered minor injuries, Brian said, while the girls' mother sustained some broken bones and "we believe some internal bleeding, as well", he added.

One American tourist was killed in the explosion, while two others are said to be in critical condition at a Bahamian hospital. Her mother Stacey also suffered a fractured leg and at least two broken ribs. "That's what I want to do", her uncle, Brian Schaffer, told NBC 6 News. Sisters Stefanie and Brooke Schaffer were on board with their parents, Stacey and Paul Bender, at the time of the blast.

'I would say probably three minutes into the ride is when the right side of the boat exploded.

The deceased woman was identified as an American woman by Chester Cooper, a member of the parliament for Exumas and Ragged Island.

She is now a senior at Castleton University, a liberal arts school in Vermont.

"Investigators are still trying to determine what went wrong", Knowles said of the explosion.
