Aussie opener Aaron Finch has blasted an incredible 172 runs off 76 balls as Australia posted a first innings total of 229 from their 20 overs against Zimbabwe in Harare.

Australia forged history by registering the first-ever 200-run partnership in the shortest format of the game. He moved beyond the previous world record high score of 156, which he scored against England in 2013, with his ninth six.

Finch followed two deliveries later to give Muzarabani the respectable figures of 2-38 off four overs.

The powerful right-hander has only been dismissed once in matches against England, New Zealand and Pakistan in 2018, putting up scores of 20*, 36*, 18*, 84 and 68* before his record-breaking knock against Zimbabwe.

Finch said of his display: 'Feeling good.

Stretching out to hit a full delivery from Muzarabani, he over-balanced and kicked his own stumps to be out hit wicket.

"When the wickets get slower and lower, that kind of innings will help".

Left-arm spinner Agar and Tye then pinned down the batsmen in the middle overs with Agar taking the key wickets of Masakadza (12) and Tarisai Musakanda (10).

"We started off quite well and just got on a little bit of a roll there so I think when you're playing on a really good surface like that in some conditions where the ball travels quite a bit, it was nice to get a few away".
