Germany boss Joachim Low denies gestures to Sweden bench

Germany boss Joachim Low denies gestures to Sweden bench

Switzerland came from behind to beat Serbia in a 2-1 win.

"Some of the German leaders of the team celebrated by running in our direction and rubbing into our faces by making gestures and that really got me annoyed and angry", said the Sweden coach whose team had led 1-0. To Germany's relief, Marco Reus scored three minutes into the second half off a cross from the left by Timo Werner, giving his teammates the jolt of energy and confidence they needed.

"We have to play against South Korea in order to be sure we make it to the next round and then everything is open, we will take it as it comes".

Low, who led the Germans to glory in Brazil four years ago, paid particular tribute to Kroos, the midfielder whose mistake led to Sweden's goal from Ola Toivonen.

However, Low played down suggestions their actions had been inflammatory.

"Sweden's first goal is my fault, I assume the responsibility, but it was fixed by the end, right?" he said. It was an unfortunate incident but what he did very well was this free kick in the dying minutes.

"Of course this was a thriller, full of emotions, a rollercoaster ride", Low added.

"We need players good in aerial play". "The last couple of minutes were full of drama but those matches exist in football". Obviously the goal we scored in stoppage time was a bit lucky but it is always a result of our belief in ourselves.

"There is still time, but when things like that happen you don't generally improve overnight".
