Corey Lewandowski says "Wah wah" when told about girl with Down syndrome

Corey Lewandowski says

Lewandowski, who was sacked from the Trump campaign in 2016 but has since regained the president's support, stood firm on his stance Wednesday morning as criticism of his comments grew.

Corey Lewandowski is feeling the wrath of the Internet.

On the cable news giant's evening newscast, former senior Democratic National Committee adviser Zac Petkanas began relating an anecdote of a "10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who was taken from her mother and put in a cage". In March 2016, he was charged with one count of battery, by the Jupiter Police Department in Florida, for grabbing a female reporter who was attempting to ask Trump a question. But the Democratic strategist quickly fact-checked the Trump surrogate, as MediaIte reported, explaining that under Obama, children were detained separately from their parents nearly exclusively when they arrived at the border unaccompanied by any adult.

There is no law, brought in by either party, that mandates separations.

Videgaray called the policy of separating children from their families "cruel and inhumane" and said Mexico had a "moral responsibility" to speak out. Videgaray said the girl had been travelling with her mother and brother when the children were separated from their mother by border police.

The agency said in a statement this was not a result of the "zero tolerance" policy but because the mother was being held as a witness in a "smuggling incident". Her father is a USA citizen. Three of the children are US citizens and were released to an aunt.

"The mother was not prosecuted, but is instead being held as a material witness to support the prosecution of the smuggler", the statement said.

Then they started speaking over each other.
