No North Korea sanctions relief until complete denuclearisation, says Pompeo

Putin's invitation to Kim Jong-un comes days after the reclusive North Korean leader held landmark talks in Singapore with US President Donald Trump.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said that there will be no sanctions relief for North Korea until it has denuclearised in a way that is "complete, verifiable and irreversible".

Trump says that his one-on-one meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was "very, very good" and that the two have an "excellent relationship".

At a joint press conference following the meeting, . the three countries said they welcomed the adoption of the statement, in which Kim reaffirmed his commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, . and Trump promised to guarantee the North Korean regime's security. "President Obama said that North Korea was our biggest and most risky problem".

In the video, Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un walk down a line of North Korean officials to shake hands.

Japan has expressed concern, while South Korea said earlier it needed "to find out the exact meaning and intention of President Trump's remarks".

Trump in 2012 tweeted about Obama's interaction with Abdullah, writing: "do we still want a President who bows to Saudis and lets OPEC rip us off?" "They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea".

Abe has made the resolution of the issue of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea a political pledge, and has said Japan would hold back economic assistance until those issues, along with denuclearisation, are resolved.

Wang said the summit "moved the peninsula's nuclear issue into the right track of peace and negotiation in line with all parties including the U.S. and China as well as the hopes of worldwide society".

Russian Federation has encouraged de-escalation talks between the USA and North Korea. Pompeo visited Seoul to provide briefings about the U.S.

"Major disarmament... We're hopeful that we can achieve that in the two and half years", he stated, adding that there is "a lot of work left to do".

North Korea has long regarded the joint military exercises as a rehearsal for invasion.

In remarks at a news conference in Seoul, the top USA diplomat added that any sanctions relief North Korea receives from the US will be linked to efforts to denuclearize.

During the talks, Song noted the need for "flexible change" as to military pressure on the North in line with the April 27 inter-Korean summit declaration, which called for confidence-building measures, should talks with the North proceed well.
