Melania Trump Speaks Out on Recent Absence, Calls Out Media for Speculating

Melania Trump's spokesperson also confirmed Sunday that she will not attend the G7 Summit or Singapore meeting with President Trump this month.

Video posted on Twitter showed the first lady, who wore a black sleeveless dress and her trademark stilettos, strolling into the East Room accompanied by President Donald Trump.

The event is to be closed to the press, but the White House normally distributes photos and videos from such receptions.

Mrs. Trump was hospitalized May 14 when she underwent a kidney embolization at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Melania trump not been seen in public since may 10.

"I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing", Melania tweeted on May, 30.

The first lady will not attend either of the prominent worldwide events, her Communications Director Stephanie Grisham told the ABC News.

For comparison, Hillary Clinton's calendar from her time as first lady shows only two days without a public engagement in June 2000.

Melania Trump attended the G7 summit in Sicily a year ago, making headlines on her debut global trip as First Lady. "She's looking at us right there". Other than a tweet from her account that nearly definitely seems to have been written by her husband, we have no proof that she is even still alive.

Whatever the reason for her lengthy seclusion, those starting to suspect that the First Lady has disappeared altogether will at least have their concerns put to rest.

In a tweet storm on Friday, Black wrote: "I've been obsessing a bit over Melania's disappearance - and that's what it is".

Comedian Sarah Silverman retweeted Melania's tweet with her own comment: "Who is this? where's Melania?" But first ladies are not elected and technically are still private citizens, and each one gets to tailor the job to suit her.

The FLOTUS has not attended a public event in almost a month. The White House traditionally hosts a big Fourth of July celebration.
