Ranking all of LeBron's Game 7 performances (they've been really good)

Ranking all of LeBron's Game 7 performances (they've been really good)

Australia's Aron Baynes had his quietest game of the series, playing just 18 minutes and going scoreless while grabbing four rebounds. The Boston Celtics are headed home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in what should be a spectacular game. That's what the Detroit Pistons sometimes did to teams back then. It didn't quite go down, but this group is resilient.

The Cavs are the lowest playoff seed, No. 4, for a James team in a decade.

The 33-year-old's next challenge: finding a way to beat the Celtics, who have played at another level on their home floor.

But James - like his team as a whole - has struggled against in Boston this postseason.

The Cavaliers were able to win Game 6, with Love playing only five minutes, but trying to do that on the road, is a completely different beast. "There's not many like you, I tell you". I have a love of the game.

"He attacked the small guys, the switches, and took his time, did a good job attacking, rebounded the ball well", Lue said of Green's Game 6 performance. He scored on the next play and posted 12 of his 46 points after the collision. This was the seventh 40-point game for James this postseason.

It will, coincidentally, be the eighth time in James's 15-year National Basketball Association career that he's played in a Game 7 in a playoff series.

"I just felt someone fall into my leg, and my leg kind of went in", James explained from the postgame podium.

The Cavaliers' lineup is in limbo.

. They banged heads and both immediately dropped to the floor with Love raising his left arm as if to signal he needed help.

The importance of Love in that category wasn't lost on the Celtics. He was helped off and walked to the bench unsteadily before heading to the locker room for further treatment and evaluation. The Cavaliers later ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

"Larry asked me if I was I OK, so I'm guessing he was the culprit of it", James said. "I wish the best for Kevin Love because he's a great player".

Tatum has been an absolute stud for the Celtics.

Love has suffered at least two other known concussions in his career - one that kept him out of Game 3 in the 2016 NBA Finals.

But coach Tyronn Lue was impressed with how his team responded in Game 6 and expects a similar performance, should Love be sidelined in Game 7. "Kevin left the game". But play as if they're on the edge of that. Not everything went the Cavs' way, but there are some things that can be gleaned from the victory that, if they continue, will give Cleveland the advantage in the winner-take-all Game 7.

Two stats plagued the Celtics' offense.

. But Pierce had a heck of a game himself, scoring 41 points, and P.J. Brown hit a couple of key late jumpers to allow the Celtics to - barely - survive. He finished with four assists, six points, and nine rebounds. "I'm sure it's a big loss for them".

There's a lot to criticize LeBron for and many of us still sting at the memory of his ill-considered navel gazing "The Decision" back in 2019 when he fled to the warmer climates literally and figuratively of the Miami Heat.

"When we review it, we'll look at it and figure out if we need to do more", he said.
