Other Texas cities on that list were New Braunfels, which came in at No. 2 with a population rate increase of 8 percent, Pflugerville (No. 3, 6.5 percent), Georgetown (No. 6, 5.4 percent), McKinney (No. 9, 4.8 percent), Flower Mound (No. 11, 4.3 percent) and Cedar Park (No. 13, 4.2 percent).

And it has grown by only 1,492 people since 2010.

San Antonio was the fastest-growing city by population with 24,208 newcomers in 2017. "This growth was enough to push San Antonio's population above the 1.5 million mark".

Population estimates for 2017 were released today by the U.S. Census Bureau, and our database allows you to look up any MI city, township or village to see the new numbers. It gained more than 83,000 residents to reach 352,000 by 2017, while smaller Sumter County gained about 32,000 residents to reach a population of 125,000.

Through July 2017, according to the report, Clinton has an estimated population loss of 1,405, outdistancing Fort Dodge, the second-biggest drop in Iowa, by more than 500.

Of the five largest cities - which in order are New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Phoenix - only Chicago saw a population drop, according to census figures.

Hempstead Village - the Island's most populous - had the largest numeric increase in population over the seven-year period, rising by 1,732 people, or 3.2 percent.

There are a number of city programs that have moved forward in the last year, including Akron's residential 15-year tax abatement program.

In June 2018, the Census Bureau will release 2017 population estimates by age, sex, race and Hispanic origin for the nation, states and counties.

New numbers released by the U.S. Census Bureau show Jacksonville is leading the state in growth. Rounding out the state's top three for 2017 are Murfreesboro, with an increase of 3.8 percent, and Clarksville, with 2.5 percent.

"We are getting closer", he said. The bureau's 2017 estimate for Suffolk is below its 2010 Census count of 1,493,350.
