Xiaomi Mi 6X launched in China: Price, specifications and features

We expect that Xiaomi will launch it for the markets outside China as an Android One branded device (Maybe as Xiaomi Mi A2).

Mi 6X will have a 5.99-inches display with an 18:9 viewpoint proportion and full HD+ determination (1080p). It comes with dual cameras on the back and lots of AI smarts.

The Xiaomi Mi 6X features a 12 MP + 20 MP (Sony IMX 486+ Sony IMX 376) dual rear camera setup and a 20 MP (Sony IMX 376) selfie camera to compete with offerings from Oppo and Vivo. The Mi 6X has a different camera module from both the Mi 5X/Mi A1 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro. For the present, the Mi 6X will launch in three variations in China with a start price of Yuan 1599.

Xiaomi had also confirmed that the phone's most powerful variant will ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, though 4GB RAM option with 32GB and 64GB of storage will also be available. It's expected to have a 4 GB RAM along with 64 GB of onboard storage. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and it will be available in two variants: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage. The phone comes in 5 different colors, which are black, gold, blue, red, and pink. Xiaomi Mi6X will be available for order in China on April 27. The device will sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, while a 2,910mAh or 3,000mAh battery capacity will also be included in the package. The biggest talking point of the new Mi 6X, which should arrive globally as Xiaomi Mi A2, is the dual camera setup. It also features PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, there is a selfie camera of 13MP and a soft LED flash for low-light photography. Instead of a telephoto and wide angle combo, the Mi 6X comes with a 12MP + 20MP module with an f/1.75 aperture lens. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back.

The smartphone has a 3010mAh battery, with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, Global Positioning System and a USB Type-C port. Xiaomi has chose to remove the 3.5mm audio jack and comes with a USB Type-C port.

To recall, the Mi A1 was the only phone under this price range to have a USB Type-C port, while phones like Redmi Note 5 Pro, Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Honor 9 Lite still use a microUSB port.
