The trailer also gives fans a glimpse of another fan-favorite: Michelle Yeoh looking ideal as Eleanor Young, Nick's unflagging mother who is determined to keep him from marrying Rachel.

That's the dilemma Rachel (Constance Wu) faces in "Crazy Rich Asians", when her longtime partner, Nick (Henry Golding), invites her back to his native Singapore to attend the wedding of a friend.

The first trailer for the much anticipated film Crazy Rich Asians dropped earlier today, and its left us very interested in its male lead.

"Daaamn, Rachel, he's like the Asian Bachelor!".

That's when she discovers Nick's secret: He's stupid wealthy, from a family that makes him, as the trailer says, "The Prince William of Singapore".

"That's ridiculous", replies Nick. This pretty much sums up the premise of Golding's character, who admits as much in another part of the trailer. While the mere idea of an average Jane marrying into such a family would be intimidating enough, Henry's old-fashioned, class-conscious, mother Elanor (Michelle Yeoh) is going to use every derogatory tactic she knows to steer her son away from the commoner.

"You can choose love, but you can't choose family".

The couple attend Nick's friend Colin's wedding, the social event of the season, where Rachel also comes face-to-face with some of the other women in Nick's life and the claws are out. "Eleanor had to fight to be a Young". Thank god Rachel has the likes Awkwafina to talk her up.
