Dana White Proclaims Floyd Mayweather Fighting In The UFC Is 'Gonna Happen'

Dana White Proclaims Floyd Mayweather Fighting In The UFC Is 'Gonna Happen'

The world was understandably outraged by Floyd Mayweather's response to his former-opponent Conor McGregor's recent problems outside of the octagon.

Appearing on a Showtime broadcast Saturday night, Mayweather reiterated that he is contemplating a return to combat sports.

"I can do whatever I want, when I want to, and how I want to", he added.

Talk of Mayweather taking his talents inside the Octagon began shortly after his big-money boxing match against Conor McGregor in August 2017, which Mayweather won in 10th round TKO.

UFC president Dana White says Floyd Mayweather "knows the money's right" and that's why he's entertaining the idea of fighting inside the Octagon.

Floyd Mayweather has been the recipient of a heavy dose of Conor McGregor's venom over the past couple of years. "But outside the ring, you have to carry yourself like a gentleman".

McGregor was freed by a NY judge on $US50,000 ($A65,000) bail on Friday after being charged with assault for his role in a violent attack at a media event to promote UFC 223.

Both Mayweather and McGregor sparred verbally ahead of their fight last summer, sometimes crossing the line.

He was released from custody on bail of $50,000 with a court hearing set for June 14. Is it possible that I come back?

"Retirement has been great".

One thing Mayweather said was certain was that he is done boxing.

If Mayweather does go into an MMA fight, he said it would be weighing in at 145 pounds.

Mayweather was ringside at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, where London's James DeGale regained the IBF super middleweight title with a points victory over Caleb Truax.

There's no question how lucrative a Mayweather MMA fight in the UFC would be.

"I would not box again".
