Ant McPartlin scenes to air on Saturday Night Takeaway

A source at ITV has responded to reports that an ancestry documentary fronted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly has been axed, because it contains scenes of the pair drinking.

And while Ant McPartlin enters rehab following his arrest for drink-driving, producers of his hit Saturday Night Takeaway have decided that the TV presenter will nevertheless feature on this weekend's show.

Ant was arrested and charged with drink-driving after a auto crash in London last week.

He's spoken with Dec and ITV and asked for time off for the foreseeable future.

Ant's rating has slid dramatically to minus 24, compared to his 37 slot in November, according to The Sun.

"Saturday Night Takeaway" did not air this weekend, and the final two episodes of the current series, which are scheduled to air on March 31 and April 7, won't feature Ant.

The Sun reports that producers have made a decision to continue airing the ongoing Saturday Knight Takeaway series of sketches in Saturday's (March 31) show, featuring Joanna Lumley, Michael Sheen, David Walliams and Emilia Fox. "Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series".

The broadcast is the penultimate in the series and ITV has said it will allow pre-recorded material to be included.

The Gogglebox star has confirmed, via Instagram, she will be joining Declan Donnelly in Florida for the final two episodes of the series.

'The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child.

"Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it. D x".

The insider added: "Obviously it means Ant will still be on the show in some form".

The new picture of the Geordie duo, both aged 42, shows them surrounded by crew members who were finishing setting up the shot.

A number of Hollywood stars are reportedly being lined up to stand in for Ant McPartlin during the final episode of Saturday Night Takeaway.
