Stormy Daniels 'threatened with physical harm', porn star's lawyer claims

Things escalated at the beginning of 2018, when the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump allegedly paid $130,000 in hush money to Stormy during the 2016 US Election campaign.

Avenatti accused Cohen and Trump of trying to move the case to federal court to increase their chances of having the case heard by a private arbitrator, "thus hiding the truth from the public".

"Mr. Trump intends to join in EC's (Essential Consultants') anticipated petition to compel arbitration", Harder said in his filing.

She had raised more than $170,000 as of Friday evening.

If the contract is upheld, Daniels stands to face a $1,000,000 penalty for every breach of the nondisclosure agreement, but Aventatti said that he does not think that any court will uphold the terms. The letter specifically notes that Clifford would be at liberty to "use and publish any text messages, photos and/or videos relating to the president that she may have in her possession, all without fear of retribution and legal liability for damages".

Daniels offered Monday to return the $130,000 payment she received in 2016 in exchange for a nullification of the non-disclosure agreement and the freedom to speak about the alleged encounter with Trump.

Asked if Daniels was physically threatened, Avenatti responded "yes".

Stormy Daniels, the porn star who says she had an affair with Donald Trump was ordered to stay silent, her lawyer has claimed.

She is also asking to be allowed to publish text messages, photos and videos relating to the president, Avenatti said in a letter to Cohen.

The Morning Joe hosts called the attorney's words a "deep tease" for 60 Minutes, which is scheduled to air Stormy's interview on Sunday, March 25. He said he was "confident" that viewers would come away from the interview believing that Daniels' side of the story is credible.

The adult film star taped the 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper last week, but reports say Trump's lawyers are threatening to go to court to stop it from airing.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Friday that she had no knowledge of the situation and hadn't spoken with the president about it.

Clifford's suit against Trump claims the two had an intimate relationship that started in the summer of 2006 and continued into 2007.

"I think that when the American people hear from my client who will provide details - very specific details related to this threat - they will conclude, as I have, that this was not a random threat by some wing nut ... out of the blue", he told Tapper.

This month, Daniels's attorney Avenatti has been vocal about how his client's NDA was void, and on Friday, he told Reuters that six women have contacted his firm about possible representation. Avenatti also told Cuomo his legal team is "not vouching for these stories" and said it was possible he won't represent the women.
