WWE Wrestler Jeff Hardy Arrested on DWI Charge After Car Crash

The police report listed an estimated $5,000 in damages to the 105 foot of guardrail, owned by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and that could be a factor in what Hardy is ordered to pay.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ Sports, Hardy was involved a single-car crash just after 8 p.m. on Saturday while driving his 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan. He reportedly blew a.25 on a breathalyzer test.

At 8:11pm, Hardy ran his auto off the road and struck a guardrail on Concord Parkway.

Hardy, who once pleaded guilty after a 2009 arrest on drug charges, is now out on bail, and he is scheduled for a court date on April 16. Hardy was placed under arrest at the scene and charged with misdemeanor Driving While Impaired.

It comes less than a month before WrestleMania 34, which is set for April 8 in New Orleans.

In the interim while Jeff has been sidelined, his real-life brother and tag team partner Matt Hardy has undergone a character shift, revealing his "Woken" persona, a version of the character he previously created as part of the immensely popular "Broken Universe" while a member of Impact Wrestling. In 2009 he was arrested for possession of anabolic steroids and controlled prescription pills. He was cleared by his surgeon and was nearing a return to action, reported Forbes.

A rep for WWE told Pro Wrestling Sheet: "Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions".
