Utica College on lockdown due to 'real, credible threat'

The college had been on lockdown for much of the day due to what officials called a "real, credible threat", but the college and police say there had been no confirmation of shots fired or injuries reported. But a little before 3 p.m. college officials announced all classes and events were canceled for the afternoon and evening and urged people to remain sheltered in place.

'If you are sheltered in place, you will be evacuated and escorted to a safe location.

The school is asking students to stay in place.

The calls were from an individual who stated he was armed with a weapon, according to the City of Utica's Police Department. Please follow all instructions from law enforcement.
